Beef in oyster sauce

Marinade:

  • 3 garlic cloves crushed
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • l/2 teaspoon ground white pepper

Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon black/dark soy sauce
  • 1 level teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 200g beef, thinly sliced
  • 8 asparagus stems
  • 8.broccoli heads
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 red pepper thinly sliced lengthwise
  • Mushrooms

Method:

  1. Beat beef to tenderise and Marinade 30 mins (See marinade above)
  2. Flash fry 2 mins and set aside
  3. In a wok or frying pan, heat the oil and fry the vegetables with splash of soy sauce and 1/2 cup water
  4. Add sauce and allow to quickly thicken
  5. Add beef to heat through
  6. Serve on bed of rice
