Honey Ginger Sesame Chicken

Ingredients

2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs

Marinade:

  1. 2 tbs sesame oil
  2. 2 tbs  soy sauce
  3. 2 tbs honey
  4. 1 tbs unseasoned rice vinegar
  5. 1 tbs ginger paste (or fresh ginger)
  6. 1/2 tsp each garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, + dried oregano
  7. salt to taste

Topping/sauce to serve:

  1. 2 tbs toasted sesame oil
  2. 2 tbs soy sauce
  3. 2 tbs honey
  4. 1 tbs ginger paste
  5. 1/2 tsp each garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili powder + dried oregano

Garnish: toasted sesame seeds

Methodology

  1. Rinse and pat dry your chicken pieces and transfer to a ziploc bag.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together all of the marinade ingredients well and then pour into the bag with the chicken.
  3. Place the sealed bag in your fridge for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400. Place the chicken on a dish or baking sheet and bake for 17-20 minutes
  5. Whisk up all of the Topping/Sauce ingredients in a small glass and taste to see if you need to adjust anything.
  6. Top the cooked chicken with the sauce and some toasted sesame seeds.

Serve with rice and steamed vegetables.
