2 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs, cubes
1/2 cup of all purpose flour
2/3 cup of cornstarch
1 teaspoon of baking soda
3/4 cup of water, cold
vegetable oil (for frying)
4 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup of honey
3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
Instructions
Combine 1/2 cup of all purpose flour, 2/3 cup of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 3/4 cup of cold water in a large bowl and set aside
Cut your chicken up – and with garlic and onion powder
Mix the chicken in the flour mixture until all of the chicken is generously coated
Add several inches of vegetable oil into a wide pot over medium to high heat
When oil hot then add pieces of coated chicken into the hot oil – DO NOT CROWD
When the chicken is golden brown and crispy, transfer onto a paper towel lined plate
Once chicken is done add 4 tablespoons of butter, 1/4 cup honey, 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce into a large skillet over medium heat
Once the sauce is simmering, add the chicken and toss to coat
