Honey Butter Chicken

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  1. 2 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs, cubes
  2. 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
  3. 2/3 cup of cornstarch
  4. 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  5. 3/4 cup of water, cold
  6. vegetable oil (for frying)
  7. 4 tablespoons of butter
  8. 1/4 cup of honey
  9. 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  10. 2 tablespoons of soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine 1/2 cup of all purpose flour, 2/3 cup of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 3/4 cup of cold water in a large bowl and set aside
  2. Cut your chicken up – and with garlic and onion powder
  3. Mix the chicken in the flour mixture until all of the chicken is generously coated
  4. Add several inches of vegetable oil into a wide pot over medium to high heat
  5. When oil hot then add pieces of coated chicken into the hot oil – DO NOT CROWD
  6. When the chicken is golden brown and crispy, transfer onto a paper towel lined plate
  7. Once chicken is done add 4 tablespoons of butter, 1/4 cup honey, 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce into a large skillet over medium heat
  8. Once the sauce is simmering, add the chicken and toss to coat
