Mushroom Sauce

  1. 2 cups mushrooms chopped
  2. 10 ml olive oil
  3. 1 clove garlic chopped fine
  4. 4 tablespoons butter
  5. 1/2 cup flour
  6. 1 cup milk
  7. salt and black pepper to season
  8. 1/2 cup creme fraiche or sour cream
  9. Lemon juice

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan. Sauté the garlic in the oil and add the mushrooms.
  2. As soon as the mushrooms start to lose their moisture, add the butter.
  3. Add the flour and remove from heat.
  4. Use a wooden spoon to mix the flour into the moisture and melted butter.
  5. Add milk and stir.
  6. Add creme fraiche and stir
  7. Put your pan back onto the heat, stirring constantly until your sauce becomes thick.
  8. Take off the heat and add salt and black pepper to taste.

TARTAR SAUCE

Tartar sauce is a popular dipping sauce for fish cakes, and it’s incredibly easy to make at home. To create your own tartar sauce, you’ll need:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Pickles
  • Capers
  • Onion
  • Lemon juice
